Editing for Accuracy, Before Medical Review

Mehroz Khan

Medical Content Editor

  • MPhil, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
  • Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad
  • Published researcher

Mehroz Khan is the Medical Content Editor at My Private Clinic and checks every page before it goes to Dr Faizal for medical review. Mehroz holds an MPhil in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and is a co-author of peer-reviewed research on oxidative stress, liver injury and type 2 diabetes, and of a book chapter on the role of health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

That research background shapes how Mehroz edits. Every claim on a page is traced back to its source: each journal reference is matched to its PubMed or publisher record before it is published, statistics are checked against the study they came from, and wording that goes further than the evidence is corrected. Prices, services and appointment details are checked against what the clinic actually offers, and pages about prescription-only medicines are kept educational, in line with MHRA and ASA rules.

Mehroz also leads the search side of the site, structuring each page around the questions patients ask, so that clear and accurate answers are easy to find in Google and in AI search tools.

Our process

How We Create and Review Health Content

  1. 1

    Written by a healthcare writer

A writer from the team researches the questions patients actually ask and drafts the page from UK clinical sources: the NHS, NICE, the MHRA, UKHSA, the Royal Colleges and peer-reviewed research.

  2. 2

Checked by our medical content editor

Every claim is traced to its source and every journal reference is matched to its PubMed or publisher record. Prices and services are checked against what the clinic offers, and anything that overstates the evidence is corrected.

  3. 3

    Medically reviewed by Dr Faizal

Dr Faizal Secretary checks the page for clinical accuracy and safety. He has the final say on any clinical statement, and the page is not published until he has approved it.

  4. 4

Published with its reviewer and date

Clinical pages show who reviewed them and when they were last updated, with numbered references so you can read the original sources yourself.

  5. 5

    Kept up to date

Pages are updated when NHS, NICE or MHRA guidance changes, when the clinic’s services or prices change, or when a reader reports an error.

Editorial standards

Our Editorial Standards

UK sources first

We rely on UK guidance from the NHS, NICE, the MHRA, UKHSA and the Royal Colleges, supported by peer-reviewed research. We do not cite sources we cannot verify.

References you can check

Studies and statistics are numbered in the text and listed at the foot of the page, each linked to its original record.

No invented claims

We never publish testimonials, statistics or success rates that we cannot source. Patient reviews come from verified Google reviews.

Prescription medicines

Pages about prescription-only medicines explain the condition, the options and the consultation. They are written to inform, not to advertise, in line with MHRA and ASA rules.

Clear about AI

We use AI tools to help build and check pages, such as formatting, link checks and matching references to their sources. AI does not write clinical advice on its own: every clinical page has a named writer, an editorial check and Dr Faizal’s medical review.

Not a substitute for care

Our pages are general information and do not replace a consultation. If you need urgent help, call 999 or NHS 111.
