Private Vaccination Clinic in Preston
Not everyone is eligible for every vaccination through the NHS. If you've missed a vaccination, need a booster, or are not currently eligible for a particular vaccine through the NHS, private vaccination may be an option.
At My Private Clinic in Fulwood, Preston, we provide private vaccinations for adults and children. Dr Faizal Secretary, a GMC-registered GP, can discuss any concerns you have and assess whether the vaccine is suitable for you.
There's no requirement for a GP referral or NHS registration. You can simply book a vaccination. Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings are both available.
Private Vaccinations for Adults & Children
Vaccination needs can vary from person to person. You may have missed a childhood vaccination, need to catch up on previous doses, or be outside the current NHS eligibility criteria for a particular vaccine.
We provide a range of private vaccines for adults and children. During your appointment, Dr Faizal will review your medical history and any vaccination records you have available before advising whether a vaccine is appropriate and whether you need a single dose or a course.
If you're unsure which vaccination you need, you can discuss this with Dr Faizal during your appointment. You can also arrange a children's health appointment if your child has other health concerns you'd like to discuss.

Private Vaccines We Offer
Below, we've listed the vaccines you can get privately at My Private Clinic.
Whether any vaccine is suitable for you depends on your age, general health and vaccination history. Dr Faizal will be able to inform you on what's best and right for you.
Chickenpox Vaccine
The chickenpox vaccine helps protect against chickenpox. For people who have not previously had chickenpox, vaccination is usually given as a two-dose course.
If you or your child are not eligible for the vaccine through the NHS, a private chickenpox vaccine may be an option. Dr Faizal can discuss whether vaccination is appropriate for you.
Flu Vaccine
The flu vaccine helps protect against seasonal influenza and is updated regularly to match the strains expected to circulate each year.
The NHS offers flu vaccination to eligible groups. If you're outside the NHS eligibility criteria but would still like protection against seasonal flu, a private flu jab may be an option.
Shingles Vaccine
This vaccine helps to prevent shingles, as well as reducing the chance of developing complications from the disease. Eligibility of getting this vaccine under the NHS depends on your age and health.
If you're not eligible via the NHS route, a private shingles vaccine (typically two doses, with spacing discussed at the appointment) can be arranged.
HPV Vaccine
The HPV vaccine helps protect against infection from cancer-causing strains of the human papillomavirus, as well as against genital warts. This vaccine is routinely offered to young people on the NHS, but for those not within the NHS programme criteria, a private HPV vaccine may be an option. The number of doses required depends on your age and individual circumstances.
MenB Vaccine
This vaccine protects against meningococcal group B, which causes meningitis and sepsis. It is typically given to babies under the NHS MenB programme, but children and adults not eligible may benefit from a private vaccination.
A private MenB vaccine may be available depending on your age and individual circumstances.
Pneumococcal Vaccine
The pneumococcal vaccine helps protect against serious infections caused by pneumococcal bacteria, including pneumonia and meningitis. It is given only to some age groups on the NHS, and those who are not eligible may consider a private vaccination path after consulting with Dr Faizal about their health.
BCG (TB) Vaccine
The BCG vaccine helps protect against tuberculosis. The NHS offers the BCG vaccination to some groups of people at higher risk.
Private BCG vaccination may be considered where there is an identified risk of TB exposure and vaccination is clinically appropriate. Dr Faizal can assess your circumstances and advise you further.
RSV Vaccine
The RSV vaccine helps protect against serious illness caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which can be particularly serious in infants and older adults.
The NHS currently offers RSV vaccination to eligible groups, including some older adults and pregnant women. If you're not eligible through the NHS, a private RSV vaccine may be an option depending on your circumstances.
MMR Vaccine
The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps and rubella. If you've missed your MMR vaccinations as a child or adult, you can catch up with us.
It is mostly given in a two-dose course, with a minimum of one month between doses.
The MMR vaccine is a live vaccine and therefore not suitable for pregnant women or those with severely suppressed immune systems.
For more information about NHS MMR vaccination and catch-up vaccination, see the NHS MMR vaccine guidance.
Whooping Cough (Pertussis) Vaccine
Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, can be particularly serious in infants.
Pertussis vaccination of pregnant women offers some protection to the infant.
If you're considering private vaccination, Dr Faizal can discuss whether it is appropriate for you.
COVID-19 Vaccine
This vaccine helps to reduce the risk of severe illness following COVID-19 infection. Eligibility for the vaccine on the NHS is subject to change, and depends on the risk category you're considered to be in. For those not considered eligible for the NHS vaccine, a private COVID vaccine can be an option.

NHS vs Private Vaccinations
Many vaccinations are provided free through the NHS, but eligibility depends on the vaccine, your age, health and individual circumstances. The NHS vaccination schedule sets out which vaccinations are routinely offered and when.
If you are not currently eligible for a particular vaccine through the NHS, or have missed a vaccination you would like to discuss, private vaccination may be an alternative.
Choosing private vaccination does not mean you have to decide which vaccine you need on your own. Dr Faizal can review your circumstances and explain your options during your appointment.
How Much Does Private Vaccination Cost?
Vaccination Appointments start from £69.
The vaccination cost will depend on what specific vaccine is required, and whether the vaccine requires a single or multiple doses. The cost for the vaccine or course will be discussed with you during your appointment. If a vaccine requires multiple doses to build long-term immunity, the timing will also be discussed with you for the doses.
Why Choose Us?
Private vaccination gives you the opportunity to discuss your vaccination needs directly with a GP and arrange an appointment around your schedule.
At My Private Clinic, vaccinations are provided by Dr Faizal Secretary, a GMC-registered GP, following an individual clinical assessment. The service is available for adults and children, with weekday evening and Saturday morning appointments at our Fulwood, Preston clinic.
You do not need a GP referral or NHS registration to arrange a private GP appointment in Preston, and the cost is confirmed before vaccination.

Can I pay privately for the HPV vaccine?

Are some vaccinations given as a course and if so how does that work?
