The Same Doctor, Every Time

You'll always see Dr Faizal Secretary — not whoever happens to be free. He knows your history, your concerns, and your name.

You Choose the Length

15 minutes for a quick follow-up, up to an hour if you need it. No rushing, no clock-watching — your appointment, your pace.

Your NHS Records, In the Room

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions By Preston Patients

Do I need to leave my NHS GP to use this clinic?
No. My Private Clinic works entirely alongside the NHS. You keep your NHS GP and remain registered with your NHS practice. We are an additional option for when you want to be seen sooner, need more time, or require something arranged more quickly than your GP surgery can offer.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We aim to offer appointments as promptly as possible and can often accommodate patients on the same day, subject to availability. We are open Monday to Thursday 5pm–8pm, all day Friday 9am–8pm, and Saturday mornings 9am–1pm.
Can a private GP issue prescriptions?
Yes, Dr Secretary can prescribe the same medications available on the NHS. You take the prescription to any UK pharmacy and pay the standard dispensing cost there. There is no additional charge from the clinic for writing the prescription.
What conditions can Dr Secretary help with?
Dr Secretary treats the full range of conditions seen in general practice — acute illness, respiratory and cardiovascular concerns, skin conditions, musculoskeletal problems, mental health, chronic disease management, sexual health, and more. If specialist input is required, a referral letter is arranged during the same appointment.
Is a private GP as qualified as an NHS GP?
Yes, Dr Secretary holds an MBChB from the University of Manchester, is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, and trained extensively within the NHS. The clinical standard of care is identical. The difference is in the time available, the access, and the continuity of seeing the same doctor each visit.
Do you offer home visits in Preston?
Yes, home visits are available in Fulwood and central Preston, starting from £150. If coming to the clinic is not possible, contact us via WhatsApp and we will confirm availability. Telephone and video appointments are also available for patients who prefer not to travel.
Can I get a referral to a specialist through this clinic?
Yes, specialist referral letters are included in the cost of your consultation. If Dr Secretary determines that further specialist input is needed, the referral letter is written before you leave the room. There is no additional charge and no need to return for a follow-up appointment to receive it.
Do I need health insurance to book an appointment?
No. Most patients pay directly without insurance. There are no registration fees or membership commitments.
Will you share my records with my NHS GP?
Only with your consent. Letters can be sent to your NHS GP if requested. Your NHS records are accessed with your consent and handled in line with current data protection legislation.

"I'd been putting off a conversation about my blood pressure for months. Dr Secretary gave me 30 minutes and went through everything properly. I left with my prescription and a referral already sorted."

"My son had a high temperature on a Saturday morning. We were seen the same day. The doctor was calm, thorough, and explained everything clearly. At £49, absolutely worth it for the peace of mind alone."

"The doctor didn't make me feel stupid for leaving things. He was straightforward, ran some bloods, and when I needed referring on, the letter was ready before I left the room. No extra charge."
